Performances
Washington Sorichung holds concerts and performances that are either private or public events. Members of Washington Sorichung participate in the concerts to showcase what they have learned in order to gain performing experience. These concerts are restricted to advanced students who have learned and practiced songs that are used in performances. Performances are a great way to improve and gain new skills. Students are able to learn stage presence, performance etiquette, confidence, and singing skills by preparing and performing continually. Students who are willing are chosen to perform pieces that include dancing while singing and playing the drum while singing. Washington Sorichung has performed in various locations such as the Kennedy Center, Library of Congress, Smithsonian Museum, and various colleges/universities. Take a look at a full list at our Performance List. Students that practice and perform in concerts and performances by Washington Sorichung receive volunteer hours. These volunteer hours may be used towards receiving the President's Volunteer Service Award. Students may also get a Certificate of Appreciation for performances. |
