
Director Eun Su Kim was born and raised in Suwon-si, Korea in 1981. She studied Pansori under Young-Ja Kim, one of the human cultural assets in Korean traditional singing, from when she was in elementary school. She has graduated from Seoul Korean Culture Highschool in 2000 and graduated from Seoul Art University in 2004. She was an intern and guest performer in the National Center for Korean Traditional Performing Arts and at the National Theater of Korea.
Director Eun Su Kim started her career in the United States in 2007 by founding Washington Sorichung Korean Traditional Music Institute. Since then she has performed in various concerts and events at places such as the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian National Museum, the Kennedy Center, the Korean Embassy, the Second Concert with Korean human Cultural Assets, and many others.
Director Eun Su Kim has performed with Korean human cultural assets, professors, and many other noted performers. She has performed with Jang Hyun Won, Kyung Man Choi, Young Jae Kim, and many more.
Director Eun Su Kim has started to perform in a nationwide and global scale. She has been invited to perform at Dominican Republic for Korean Independence Day Celebration, performed in New York, California, New Jersey, and other states.
Director Eun Su Kim has also been invited to perform and hold workshops at various colleges and universities. She has performed at George Mason University, University of Maryland, American University, and other colleges. She has also held workshops at Williams College, University of Maryland, and other colleges. Additionally, she was part of the Korean Embassy Outreach Project, Korean Cultural Experience for US Schools Tour from 2012-2013.
Director Eun Su Kim regularly invites instructors to come and teach Korean traditional music. She has held 9 workshops in the past few years, and there are plans to invite more instructors in the future. The workshops range from Pansori workshops to Korean traditional instrument workshops and is open for students and anyone interested in learning Korean traditional music.
Director Eun Su Kim is currently operating Sorichung Enterprise LLC., and directs Washington Sorichung Korean Traditional Music Institute and runs Soricha Tea and Theater. Soricha Tea and Theater holds monthly Korean traditional performances with local Korean traditional music performers. She is also the director of Cultural Affairs in the Korean American Association of Washington Metropolitan Area.
